Welcome to FalconTech
Who are we?
We are the International School of Prague Upper School Robotics club. The club was created four years ago to promote engineering, new technology and programming in our school. Robotics is growing in popularity, and the Upper school club has spread throughout Middle school and Elementary school. We compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competition.
Background to Falcon Tech
In 2012, a student from ISP took the initiative to start this club four years ago, and soon other students joined. Now we have more than 20 members of all ages and nationalities. Also, as we work to promote gender equality, girls are an integral part in the club, proving that robotics is not only a boy’s world. While majority of our members are 9th and 10 graders, we are led by experienced upper classmen.
FTC Competitions
Every year, we take part in the regional FTC Robotics competition, which is a non-profit organization that hosts regional competitions around the world and the world championship in the United States. Last year, our club won the Inspire award. Out of the 7 awards, the Inspire award is one of the two awards that qualified us to the First tech challenge in St. Louis, USA. In the FTC Robotics competition, our school, ISP, was one of the few schools representing Central and Eastern European countries and it was the only school to represent the Czech Republic. It was the first time our school has been invited to compete in FTC Worlds. Now, every year we try our best to perpetuate those successes.
