Today, we had three more qualification matches. Our first one didn't go so great, and the autonomous mode did not work all that well. Sadly, we lost our match and our ranking dropped a few places.
Our second match went poorly as well, as an issue with motor reversal caused our robot to bend a servo then yank out it's own wires. Luckily for us, our allied team was extremely good and we were able to win the match regardless of our subpar performance.
Finally, our third match left everyone a little stunned. Our autonomous did not exactly function as it should have, since our allies needed to start at the point where we usually started, but we were still able to park in the specified zone which gave us a good five points. Later in tele-op mode we were able to move a bunch of debris around, climb to the midway on the mountain and even knock down two of the climbers. We got a grand total of 312 points, and had our best game of the day. Right after it was over, we were the 14th team out of 64. Sadly, as more and more people had their matches our position slipped a little, but we did not fall below 20 before everyone finished out the 4th round of matches.
After the pits closed and we cleared out of the building we decided to go and check out the St. Louis arch, which was a really beautiful sight. We were unable to go up, but the view was still pretty spectacular even from below.
We are going into the third day of qualification matches with excitement and enthusiasm, and we cannot wait to see what the day has in store for us!! Stay tuned on Facebook and Twitter to see how we are doing and what's happening next :)
